Betting
Back the ORIGINAL or the REPLY with SOL. Your SOL buys shares of that side; if it wins, the pot is split by shares.
Sign in with X, then link a wallet
Browsing needs nothing. Betting needs both:
- Sign in with X proves who you are. We use it to keep authors from betting on their own posts and to give each person one identity. We only request read access to your profile; Ratioed never posts as you.
- Link a Solana wallet by signing a one-time message (no transaction, no fee). A wallet can be linked to only one X account; one X account can link several wallets.
When you bet, the server checks the link, the author rule, rate limits and region, then co-signs your transaction. The on-chain program only accepts bets carrying that co-signature, so the checks can't be skipped by calling the program directly. Your wallet still signs and pays; we never hold your keys or your SOL.
Sides
Every battle has two sides: ORIGINAL and REPLY. Pick one: you can only back one side of a battle — per wallet on-chain, and per X account across all your linked wallets. You can add to your side as many times as the limits allow. Bets are buy-only: shares can't be sold or transferred, and a bet can't be cancelled.
Why one side? Early shares are cheaper, so backing both sides at the open would earn a guaranteed cut of everyone who bets later. Picking a side keeps the early edge for people with actual conviction. For the same reason, your X account must be at least 30 days old to bet.
Early-bird pricing
Each side has its own price for a share that rises as more SOL comes in: price = P0 + K × shares already sold. With the current settings a share starts at 0.001 SOL and the price grows by 0.0000001 SOL for every share sold. The first 10 SOL on a side moves its price from 0.001 SOL to 0.001 SOL (1.41×).
This isn't a token bonding curve like pump.fun's: no token is minted and shares can't be sold or traded. All SOL from both sides goes into one pot, and the price only decides how big a slice of that pot your SOL buys: getting in early, or backing the side fewer people are on, gets you more shares per SOL. Shares are rounded down, in the pool's favour.
| SOL already on the side | 1 SOL buys | Avg price / share | Price after |
|---|---|---|---|
| 0.00 SOL | 976.2 shares | 0.00102 SOL | 0.00105 SOL |
| 5.00 SOL | 803.3 shares | 0.00124 SOL | 0.00126 SOL |
| 10.00 SOL | 698.5 shares | 0.00143 SOL | 0.00145 SOL |
| 25.00 SOL | 530.8 shares | 0.00188 SOL | 0.00190 SOL |
| 50.00 SOL | 406.6 shares | 0.00246 SOL | 0.00247 SOL |
Worked example
REPLY is the side. Ana is first in with 1 SOL. Others add 9 SOL. Ben adds 1 SOL after that. Meanwhile 6.00 SOL goes on ORIGINAL. The REPLY wins.
Ana 1 SOL at supply 0 → 976.2 shares Ben 1 SOL after 10 SOL in → 698.5 shares REPLY total supply = 8,982.8 shares Pot 17.00 SOL (11.00 REPLY + 6.00 ORIGINAL) Rake 3% −0.510 SOL → treasury (buyback & burn) Creator 1% −0.170 SOL Winners pool 16.32 SOL Ana gets 976.2 / 8,982.8 × 16.32 = 1.7735 SOL Ben gets 698.5 / 8,982.8 × 16.32 = 1.2690 SOL
Same 1 SOL, same side, but Ana's early bet pays about 1.4× Ben's. If ORIGINAL had won, both would get nothing back. Numbers are rounded for display; on-chain math uses integers and always rounds down.
Limits
- Min bet
- 0.010 SOL
- Max per wallet
- 5 SOL
- Pot cap
- 100 SOL
- Betting locks
- 22h
- Max per wallet applies per battle: the total you've put on one side from one wallet can't exceed 5 SOL during the beta.
- Pot cap: once both sides together hold 100 SOL, the battle takes no more bets.
- Lock: betting closes 22h after the battle opens, 2h before scoring, so nobody can pile onto a result that's already obvious. The site stops preparing bets about 30 seconds early so a signed transaction can still land in time.
- Bets are also rate-limited per account, and are unavailable in restricted regions.
Slippage
Your quote is computed from the live on-chain state. Someone else's bet can land first and move the price. Each bet carries a minimum number of shares, set to your quote minus 1% by default (the server accepts up to 10%). If the price moved more than that, the program rejects the transaction and your SOL stays in your wallet; you only pay the Solana network fee.
