Settlement & payouts
How a battle goes from open bets to claimable winnings, where the fees go, and when everyone gets refunded instead.
Timeline
- T+0Open
Market created on-chain. Bets accepted. Metrics polled, spike checks running.
- 22hLocked
No new bets. Anyone can send the lock instruction; our worker does it automatically.
- 24hSettling
Final metrics fetched and scored. The oracle writes the winner, score, raw metrics and snapshot hash on-chain. Fully automatic — no human review step.
- ≈24hFinal
Finalize follows right after settlement (anyone can send it). Fees are computed, the rake moves to the treasury, and claims open.
Times are from when the market was created. Lock, settle and finalize happen on the next worker tick after the deadline, so expect a minute or two of slack. Spike-flagged battles settle on schedule like any other; the flag stays visible on the battle page.
Fees
Fees are taken only from battles that end with a winner, at finalize, on the total pot (both sides):
- 96% winners
- Split pro rata to winning shares.
- 1% creator
- Whoever tagged @ratioed.
- 3% treasury
- Used to buy back and burn $RATIOED.
The fee rates are copied into each market when it's created, so a later config change never affects a running battle. Voided battles pay no fees at all.
Pro-rata payout
winners_pool = pot − rake − creator_fee your_payout = your_shares × winners_pool / total_winning_shares (rounded down)
Shares come from early-bird pricing, so earlier and contrarian SOL earns a bigger slice. Positions on the losing side pay nothing. Rounding dust stays in the market account.
Voids and refunds
A voided battle refunds 100% of what each wallet put in, with no fees. A battle voids when:
| Case | When |
|---|---|
| Tie | Final score within the tie band (see Scoring) |
| Not enough activity | Combined weighted engagement growth below the minimum |
| Post unavailable | Either post is deleted or can't be fetched during the battle or at settlement |
| One-sided | Either side has no shares when it settles: there's no one to pay or no one to pay from |
| Admin / oracle void | After spike review, an opt-out request, a bug, or another integrity problem; possible any time before Final |
Claiming
- Once a battle is Final (or Void), open it or your portfolio and press claim. Your wallet signs a
claimtransaction; the payout or refund goes straight to that wallet. - Each claim closes your position account on-chain and returns its rent deposit to you, so even a losing position is worth closing.
- Creators claim the creator fee the same way from the wallet linked to their X account.
Unclaimed funds (30 days)
Claim within 30 days of settlement. After that, the program allows the admin to sweep whatever is left in a market to the treasury. At launch sweeping is not switched on, and unclaimed funds simply stay claimable in the market account, but that isn't a promise: treat 30 days as the deadline.
